I’ve been working away on the new apartment getting it ready for our move-in day, so I wanted to share some inspiration. Here are a few items I have on my wish list and a sneak peek at the paint color. It’s been so much fun working on my own space and making this new apartment feel like our own.
When we first saw the space both Eric and I knew that we wanted to drastically change the paint color. It was dark charcoal grey (even on the ceilings) – and while I loved the color of the paint, it didn’t feel like us. So we decided to go all white throughout the entire apartment. As I pulled inspiration from magazines, Pinterest and books, I realized that white was definitely what I was gravitating towards. I wanted a clean, crisp and fresh space.

When we first decided to move I knew I wanted to make a big change with the paint color. I’ve been very attracted to all white homes – probably because I grew up in them. I felt like this space in particular needed to be all white. That’s why I went with my go-to white paint color – Benjamin Moore Mountain Peak White. I used it for my mom’s condo and in my opinion it’s the best white out there. In the photo above (taken on my iPhone) it looks a little rosey but that’s because I took this photo while the sun was setting. I’m thrilled with the way it turned out and our new apartment is finally feeling more like a home as we slowly move in this week.
For more updates follow along on my “new apartment” board on Pinterest where I’ll be sharing inspiration for each room. Stay tuned for more before/after snippets throughout the new few months. I can’t wait to have each room come together slowly – it takes time to select and find every piece, but it’s definitely worth the wait.
